Adams County Democrat Fri June 18 1909 pg 6 Glenvil and Vicinity The death of Jacob Stimbert, son of Benidict Stimbert, occurred at the Adventist hospital in Hastings soon after his admission there on Monday evening June 7th. The funeral occurs on Thursday afternoon at the German Congregation church at Inland Center near which he has lived on one of his father’s farms for many years. The deceased leaves a widow, two sons, and one daughter who have the sympathy of all friends is their attention. Adams County Democrat Fri June 25 1909 pg 6 The funeral of Jacob Stimbert last Thursday was very largely attended by the general public, and owing to the sudden taking of and the distress of the numerous relatives, it was an unusually sad funeral. Pastor Kern was assisted by a former pastor of the church whose name we do not recollect. The deceased was 47 years old. His wife was the daughter of the brother of Benidict Stimbert and therefore his cousin. Mr Stimbert, the father now 74 years old, came on from Woodford county, Illinois to attend the funeral. His brother Benedict is one year older . The two boys of the deceased, Walter and Adolph aged respectively 19 and 15 years are now going on with the corn cultivation. The daughter, Louisa, now 21 years old is at home and assists her mother in the household duties. Father Stimbert returned to his Illinois home this week.
