Hastings, Daily Tribune, Friday, December, 30, 1949 Glantz Follows Wife in Death Harvard – Henry J Glantz, 70, died Thursday at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, just 11 days after the death of his wife. He had been ill for several months, but was hospitalized only on day. Born November 27, 1879, at Norka, Russia, Mr. Glantz came to the United States in 1885 with his parents who settled near Harvard. He has lived in this vicinity the remainder of his live, with the exception of 11 years in the Dakotas. In 1921, he moved to a farm three miles southwest of Harvard, where he lived until retiring into town in 1948. He was a member of the United Church here and that is where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Lewis G. Marx will officiate and burial will be in the Harvard cemetery. The body will remain at the Alberding Funeral Home until time of services. Surviving Mr Glantz are four sons, Edwin and Wayne of Harvard, Dan of Coalings, Calif., and Ray of Salt Lake City, Utah; three daughters, Mrs Fred Schliep of Harvard, Mrs Brunno Romanowski of Hartly, LA, and Miss Colleen Glantz of Hastings; a brother, John of Portland, Ore; and two sisters, Mrs. Christine Sinner of Gering and Mrs. Elisabeth Traudt of McCook. Five grandchildren also survive.
