SOMEWHERE, NEBRASKA
The town began as Glenville in 1882, but later people called
it Glenvile, and then Glenvil, and as these signs show, no
body in the Nebraska town could quite figure out the
spelling. This week residents petitioned a judge to
call it Glenvil. He said "Okay." They said "No,
no. Glenvil!" All right, he said, it's Glenvil.
and so the matter's settled . . . . . . until someone
figures out a new way to spell it.
