  Lafayette Mitchell was born in Athens Co., Ohio, Nov 15 1830. United with the M E Church in June 1846, and at various times during his life held the official relation of Class Leader and M S Superintendent. He was united in marriage with Hannah Lawrence, June 20, 1852. He moved with his family to Neb. in Oct 1884 and died at his home in Fairfield, Neb., March 2, 1898.

  Mr. Mitchell was a long and constant sufferer, being confined to his house for several years. His naturally strong constitution stoutly withstood the power of disease; and the cheerful patience with which he endured made his invalid life a benediction to all his friends. Gone before, his precious memory abides with us.
