At his home in Clay Center, Neb, Friday morning, Oct 1st, E G Groff, in his 76th year.

In the death of Mr. Groff one of the old landmarks of Clay County, has been removed. Mr Groff has been surveyor of Clay county for the past fifteen years and was renonimated last Monday by the republicans. He was universally respected by all irrespective of politics of church relations. The remains were taken to Lancaster, Penn for burial.
