After a nine days' trial Henry Thornhill was found guilty of the murder of William Alonzo Barrett, and sentenced to hang. The murder took place July 13, 1899, in Hamilton county, the trial was at Aurora, and was concluded Thursday evening, January 30. The Republican is publishing a full account of the trial, and in an editorial declares Thornhill "without a doubt the most cold hearted murderer that ever was convicted of the most coldblooded murder ever committed. The case of the wife of the murdered man as accessory was then taken up.
